This is the first episode of the comic series of the Pedro and Oliver adventures.
Pedro is struggling to find one word when he's doing his crossword. Oliver tries to help, but just to make thinks a little more messy.
The actual plot (in reality almost all of the plots in this comics) is based on my personal experience learning English and trying to make conversation with native English speakers :) I remember having this conversation with my wife (American) about the difference between "DEAR" and "DEER", they just sound the same but their spelling is different, there are some sound in Spanish that can sound similar, but never with vowels. Anyway, like Oliver says in this episode: "It's just the way it is". A lot of things that you learn from a new culture, language, etc. you just have to accept without trying to find a reason for it (because there is none).
Oh well, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did it making it (and living it). The best way to learn is to make fun of your own mistakes while you are giving your first baby steps.
P.S. #1: A special thanks for my wife who proofread it and yelled at me saying: "The plural is deer not deerS", she was right :-) I love her with all my heart. P.S. #2: About closed captions: In any language one of the most difficult part to translate are the jokes, especially when they are wordplays, that's why I uploaded 2 different closed captions in Spanish: one is a literal translation from the English, but it loses most of the jokes; the second one it's a more open translation, but it tries to keep the essence of the original jokes.

Éste es el primer episodio de la historieta sobre la aventuras de Pedro y Oliver.
Pedro está teniendo problemas para descubrir una palabra en el crucigrama. Oliver intenta ayudarlo, pero lo único que consigue es complicar aún más las cosas.
El argumento (de hecho casi todos los argumentos en esta historieta) en realidad está basado en mi experiencia personal al aprender inglés y al tratar de conversar con hablantes nativos del inglés :) Recuerdo haber tenido esta misma conversación con mi esposa (estadounidense) acerca de la diferencia entre la pronunciación de "DEAR" (querido) y "DEER" (ciervo), simplemente suenan igual pero el deletreo es diferente, hay en español algunos sonidos parecidos entre sí, pero nunca entre las vocales. De cualquier manera, como Oliver dice en este episodio: "Es así" (o "Es como es"). Un montón de cosas que aprendemos de una nueva cultura, idioma, etc. simplemente tenemos que aceptarlas sin buscarle una razón para cada cosa (porque no la hay).
Bueno, espero que lo disfruten tanto como yo lo he hecho al hacerlo (y al vivirlo). La mejor manera de aprender is riendose de los errores que cometemos mientras vamos dando nuestros primeros pasitos.
P.S. #1: Un agradecimiento especial para mi esposa que lo corrigió y me recriminó diciendo: "Ciervos en inglés es 'deer', no 'deerS'", tenía razón :-) La amo con todo mi corazón. P.S. #2: Sobre los subtítulos: En todos los idiomas una de las partes más difíciles para traducir son los chistes, especialmente cuando se trata de juego de palabras, es por eso que he cargado 2 diferentes subtitulados en español: uno es la traducción literal del inglés, pero pierde la mayoría de los chistes; el segundo es una traducción más libre, pero intenta mantener la esencia de los chistes originales.
